Feb 20, 2013 - As we all know from experience, batteries don't last forever. Eventually, a CMOS battery will stop working. This may happen anywhere between.

Trying to install MCE2005 on this laptop after Virus, need a couple of things to try.
Can anyone dump and post the R01-A0I BIOS as Medion do not have it available either on FTP or via download.
Does anyone have any experience of any BSODs with stop error 0x00000007B if loading ICH7M AHCI SATA driver from txtsetup?
The MCE install should have ICH7 drivers but reports no HDD found, using F6 with any d/l drivers gives BSOD.
There is no AHCI/IDE switch in BIOS unless it's hidden, and as suggested F11 in BIOS does not show any hidden options.
Win 7 Setup DVD loads perfectly, but not MCE and UBCD 4 Win based on SP2 loads too.
Any help with understanding slipstreaming of drivers and access to unbranded MCE installation images would be helpful.

I have them, or so I think. Medion do not provide a download for anything other than the Intel Matrix Storage Drivers. There is no separate ICH7M text mode driver.
Downloading them from Intel and using F6 tells me a driver is already available for that controller and do I want to use the floppy version or the available driver.
Floppy driver gives BSOD 0x00000007B in iastor.sys, I have tried all the text options with the same result although the device is 8086 27c5 = Intel ICH7M/MDH SATA Controller, it is the Intel device with a Widcomm ID (the motherboard manufacturer for the Medion laptop).
Available driver gives 'No hard drive could be detected' and Setup exits.
I'm going to try and dump the BIOS myself and examine the modules.
